The Assistant Manager role is a full-time, on-site position based at the Warrington autocentre. The Assistant Manager supports the Centre Manager with day-to-day operations, including supervising technicians, coordinating workflow, and ensuring that all services are delivered safely, efficiently, and to high quality standards. This role involves monitoring performance targets, managing stock levels, and assisting with scheduling, staffing, and adherence to company procedures. The Assistant Manager helps maintain a clean, modern, customer-friendly environment and engages directly with customers to provide clear advice, resolve queries, and promote available products and services. The role also contributes to local marketing activity, supports training and development of the team, and ensures compliance with health and safety and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
- Strong leadership and people management skills, including team supervision, coaching, and performance support.
- Customer service and communication skills to build trust, handle queries, and provide clear, professional advice.
- Operational and organisational skills for scheduling, stock control, workflow coordination, and adherence to procedures.
- Basic financial and commercial awareness, such as understanding targets, margins, and cost control within a retail service environment.
- Knowledge of automotive services (e.g., tyres, brakes, MOTs, servicing) or willingness to learn and develop in this area.
- Ability to work on-site in a busy autocentre environment, including occasional weekend and flexible hours as required.
- Previous experience in a supervisory or assistant management role, ideally in automotive, retail, or service-based businesses.
- Relevant vocational or technical qualifications in automotive or vehicle maintenance are an advantage but not essential.
