Are you ready to take the next step in your retail career, leading from the front, supporting people and making things happen day to day?
Join us at Boots as an Assistant Manager in our busy Bath Southgate Centre store, where you’ll be part of a dynamic and well-established team known for delivering exceptional service and making a real difference to customers’ lives.
With excellent transport links, including nearby train and bus stations, as well as convenient parking options, this is an accessible and vibrant location to grow your career.
At Boots, being an Assistant Manager means creating a team and environment that customers and patients trust—somewhere they feel welcome, supported and want to return to. Guided by our purpose, “With You. For Life.”, you’ll bring this to life every day, helping your team deliver care that truly matters in those key moments.
This store already benefits from a strong-performing, established team, and we’re looking for a confident, motivated leader who can build on that success. You’ll play a key role in maintaining high operational standards, driving performance and supporting the continued growth of the business.
You’ll lead and support your team day to day—setting clear expectations, coaching individuals and helping them grow—while taking ownership of how things run. From helping a customer find the right solution, to ensuring safe and compliant pharmacy services, to delivering strong results behind the scenes, you’ll be at the heart of it all.
This is a hands-on leadership role where you’ll balance people, performance and operations. You’ll also be supported to complete pharmacy training as part of the role, enabling you to contribute more broadly to the store’s success.
Working on a part-time basis (22.5 hours per week), you’ll benefit from flexibility across working days, with a requirement to work at least two Sundays per month.
If you’re looking for a role where you can make a real impact every day while developing your leadership and pharmacy skills, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.
What You’ll Be Doing
As Assistant Manager, you’ll report into the Store Manager and get stuck in on the shop floor, coaching and supporting your team and role modelling how great care and strong performance go together.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
