Company Description Unique Plumbing Supplies Limited is an ethically run, independent plumbing and heating merchant with five dynamic branches across the Hampshire area. One branch features a modern and inspirational bathroom showroom that showcases a wide range of contemporary designs and products. Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Assistant Manager role based at our brand new Winchester branch. The Assistant Manager supports daily branch operations, including supervising staff, coordinating customer service, and ensuring efficient stock control and merchandising of plumbing and heating products. The role also involves supporting the Branch Manager with:
- Reporting
- Implementing company procedures
- Contributing to local marketing or promotional activities
The Assistant Manager collaborates with team members to deliver reliable service and uphold the company’s ethical standards.
Qualifications
- Experience in retail or trade branch operations, ideally in plumbing, heating, or building supplies.
- Strong leadership and people management abilities, including supervising staff and supporting performance development.
- Proficiency in customer service, with the ability to handle inquiries, resolve issues, and build long-term relationships.
- Solid organizational and time-management skills, with attention to detail in stock control, ordering, and merchandising.
- Comfort with basic IT systems and point-of-sale software, including creating reports and updating product information.
- Good numerical skills for handling transactions, pricing, and sales analysis.
- Clear and professional communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Previous supervisory experience and knowledge of health and safety practices in a trade or showroom environment.
- Willingness to learn about plumbing and heating products and support customers with product selection.
- Relevant vocational training or qualifications in retail, management, or a related field are beneficial.
