As an Assistant Manager, you’ll play a crucial role in shaping Starbucks’ future. Your voice shapes everything—from operational excellence to exceptional customer experiences. Empowered with responsibility, you’ll drive commercial success, uphold brand standards, and nurture your team.

Key Responsibilities
Core Leadership & Operations
- Lead shifts to deliver outstanding commercial results and world-class customer experiences, ensuring all team members (partners) succeed
- Own KPIs including labour efficiency, waste reduction, and sales performance—turning metrics into actionable improvements
- Schedule shifts to align roles with routines, then adapt as needed to optimise customer flow and feedback
- Monitor team performance, provide coaching and feedback, and celebrate partner achievements
- Replace the store duty manager when scheduled; be accountable for all operational and personnel decisions during your shift
- Maintain brand standards in every detail—product quality, service consistency, and operational completeness
- Analyse financial/operational data to make data-driven decisions that enhance shift performance

Team Development
- Train and mentor partners to ensure quality, efficiency, and service excellence
- Identify and embed new initiatives and product launches at store level
- Engage closely with senior management and community leaders to uphold Starbucks’ reputation
Compliance & Safety
- Ensure compliance with health & safety, food safety, security, and store policies
- Act as the face of the store—leading from the front and representing the brand
Operational Variability
- Beware: this role involves flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, nights, and holidays.
Requirements & Experience
- Proven experience leading teams in fast-paced, customer-focused retail or hospitality environments
- Strong belief in Starbucks’ mission and values—delivering our vision to customers and team members
- Commercial acumen to interpret performance data and take decisive action
- Confidence in managing people and prioritising operations
- A growth mindset and passion to grow in your leadership career
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment where adaptability is key
