About the Role

As an Assistant Manager, you’ll support the Centre Manager in delivering exceptional management and leadership, with a sharp focus on profitability and customer experience.

Your time will be split between:

  • The workshop, where you’ll work alongside technicians to maintain high standards of automotive repair and servicing
  • Daily sales & customer service, assisting the Centre Manager in driving customer satisfaction and commercial success

Earnings & Rewards

  • On-target earnings up to £40,893
    • Base salary: £29,081 – £34,093
    • Uncapped monthly bonus (average annual earnings supplement: £6,800)
  • 5 days a week (Centre closed Sundays)
  • Extra income potential via our Refer a Friend Scheme (T&Cs apply)

Responsibilities

Your key tasks will include:

  • Driving profitability through efficient workshop and sales operations
  • Coaching & developing technicians to maintain high standards of work
  • Managing customer journeys from quote to service completion
  • Ensuring compliance with health & safety regulations
  • Supporting the Centre Manager in day-to-day administrative and operational duties
  • Maintaining technical/mechanical expertise to advise and lead teams
  • Proactively managing system proficiency in our IT and workshop tools

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Proven ability to deliver high customer satisfaction through strong management and leadership
  • Experience in coaching, training, and supporting colleagues in-real-time
  • Strong technical backing – either a Level 2 or 3 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent experience)
  • Hands-on knowledge of diagnostics, workshop operations & vehicle maintenance processes
  • Full, valid driving licence
  • Experience enforcing Health & Safety policies in a workshop environment
  • Excellent verbal & written communication skills to engage with customers & staff
  • IT-savvy, willing to upskill in dedicated workshop and retail systems
  • Strong organisational skills – ability to prioritise and manage time effectively
