Assistant Manager – Starbucks

Key Responsibilities

As an Assistant Manager, your typical day could include leading shifts, driving commercial performance and world-class service while ensuring every partner feels valued. You’ll:

Leading and Operating

  • Lead shifts to deliver commercial results and create exceptional customer experiences
  • Ensure every partner (colleague) is set up for success through mentorship and support
  • Take full ownership of store KPIs, including:
    • Labour efficiency
    • Waste reduction
    • Sales performance
  • Manage shift deployment to meet staffing plans while optimising customer experience
  • Act as duty manager on your scheduled shifts, directing all operations during your tenure

People Management

  • Observe, coach, and provide feedback to partners on performance and development
  • Recognise and celebrate partner achievements throughout the day
  • Train and empower partners to meet extreme operational and service standards

Operational Excellence

  • Maintain consistency in brand standards, food safety, security, and hygiene protocols
  • Lead new product launches and brand initiatives at the store level
  • Use data and metrics to drive informed decisions that enhance operational performance

Personal Accountability

  • Uphold responsibility for operational decisions and compliance with all store policies
