Assistant Manager - Costa

Assistant Cafe Manager – Costa Coffee (Compass Group UK&I)

Timescale: Immediate start

Role Duration: Contracted to 40 hours per week


About the Role

We’re recruiting an experienced Assistant Cafe Manager who thrives on delivering exceptional food and world-class customer service, with the confidence to oversee Compass Group UK&I catering and service operations for a leading High Street brand on a full-time basis.

As an Assistant Cafe Manager, you’ll ensure smooth kitchen and service operations, contributing to unforgettable customer experiences. This role offers an opportunity to grow within a company that empowers its teams, celebrates individuality, and recognises talent that truly goes beyond the plate.

Shift Pattern: Typically 5 out of 7 days.


Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate between the team and manager to consistently exceed expectations
  • Motivate and inspire the team to stay focused and perform at their best
  • Assist the manager with:
    • Inventory management
    • Budget monitoring
    • Implementing performance improvement plans
  • Manage tills, process payments, and handle financial transactions
  • Train and support staff, leading by example to ensure excellence across all roles
  • Handle administrative duties, including staff paperwork when required
  • Represent Compass Group UK&I and uphold a positive brand image

  • Demonstrate proven ability to manage teams effectively
  • Possess strong communication and organisational skills
