About the Role
You will be responsible for ensuring clients’ needs are met in a timely and effective manner while identifying opportunities for added value. Key responsibilities include:
- Assisting with the preparation of complex statutory accounts and reviewing disclosures under multiple accounting frameworks, including FRS102 and IFRS
- Reviewing statutory accounts for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies
- Supporting the preparation, review, and submission of:
- VAT returns
- Employer taxes (e.g., P11D, PSA)
- Supporting the preparation, review, and submission of:
- Monthly/quarterly management reports
- Preparing integrated cash flow forecasts
- Reviewing bookkeeping duties using accounting software such as Xero, Sage
- Preparing or reviewing corporation tax returns, granting ad-hoc advice where supported by the tax team
- Building client relationships and assisting in portfolio management
- Evaluating client internal controls, identifying weaknesses, and suggesting improvements
- Conducting on-site assignments/secondments at client premises
- Completing assigned work within deadlines, meeting standards with minimal supervision
- Continuously improving systems and procedures
- Providing mentorship and training to junior staff
- Prioritising workloads and maintaining professional development
- Ensuring up-to-date technical knowledge, driving best practice in the team
- Monitoring and meeting client deadlines while ensuring work aligns with expectations
- Collaborating with other departments within the firm

Requirements
- ACCA/ACA qualified
- At least 2 years of recent experience in an accountancy practice firm
- Familiarity with accounting software (preferably Xero and Caseware)
- Basic knowledge of:
- UK GAAP
- IFRS
- FRS 102
- Strong time management and delegative skills
