About the Role

You will be responsible for ensuring clients’ needs are met in a timely and effective manner while identifying opportunities for added value. Key responsibilities include:

  • Assisting with the preparation of complex statutory accounts and reviewing disclosures under multiple accounting frameworks, including FRS102 and IFRS
  • Reviewing statutory accounts for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies
  • Supporting the preparation, review, and submission of:
    • VAT returns
    • Employer taxes (e.g., P11D, PSA)
  • Supporting the preparation, review, and submission of:
    • Monthly/quarterly management reports
  • Preparing integrated cash flow forecasts
  • Reviewing bookkeeping duties using accounting software such as Xero, Sage
  • Preparing or reviewing corporation tax returns, granting ad-hoc advice where supported by the tax team
  • Building client relationships and assisting in portfolio management
  • Evaluating client internal controls, identifying weaknesses, and suggesting improvements
  • Conducting on-site assignments/secondments at client premises
  • Completing assigned work within deadlines, meeting standards with minimal supervision
  • Continuously improving systems and procedures
  • Providing mentorship and training to junior staff
  • Prioritising workloads and maintaining professional development
  • Ensuring up-to-date technical knowledge, driving best practice in the team
  • Monitoring and meeting client deadlines while ensuring work aligns with expectations
  • Collaborating with other departments within the firm

Requirements

  • ACCA/ACA qualified
  • At least 2 years of recent experience in an accountancy practice firm
  • Familiarity with accounting software (preferably Xero and Caseware)
  • Basic knowledge of:
    • UK GAAP
    • IFRS
    • FRS 102
  • Strong time management and delegative skills
