We are The Light, we provide a unique immersive experience that surprises and delights our guests across 14 locations in the UK. We offer a wide range of activities; cinema, bowling, karaoke, darts, mini golf, climbing walls, bars and kitchens - we have it all!

The Role

We're looking for an energetic and commercially minded Assistant Manager to help drive the success of our vibrant leisure venue. This is an exciting opportunity for a leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment, loves creating memorable guest experiences, and knows how to bring out the very best in their team.

As an Assistant Manager you will be responsible and accountable for all aspects of the venue’s leisure activities, ensuring that top-tier guest experience is delivered every time. You will take a strategic approach to business operations and embrace the company’s core values. You will lead the team and always maintain a safe and positive environment.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Leading, motivating and developing a passionate team through coaching, mentoring, training and recognition
  • Creating a positive, inclusive and safe environment where both guests and team members can thrive
  • Taking ownership of Health & Safety compliance, ensuring the safe operation, inspection and maintenance of all climbing walls, activity equipment and facilities, while achieving excellent audit standards and managing incidents in line with company procedures.
  • Driving operational excellence by overseeing daily operations, managing guest feedback and complaints, using technology to support efficient processes, and ensuring the centre consistently delivers an exceptional experience
  • Supporting business growth by identifying new sales opportunities, building relationships within the local community and increasing brand awareness

About You:

  • Previous management experience within a leisure, entertainment or family attraction environment
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire, engage and develop high-performing teams.
  • Advanced knowledge of Health & Safety legislation and best practice, with a commitment to maintaining a safe and compliant environment.
  • First Aid at Work qualification (desirable)
  • Current Food Safety, Health & Safety and Fire Safety certifications, with a Personal Licence preferred
  • Confidence using technology and business systems to manage operations and drive efficiencies.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving and decision-making skills with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
