I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

About The Clapham North
The Clapham North is a fast-paced, late-night venue with serious character.
During the week, we host everything from Neon Naked Life Drawing and Comedy Nights to Open Mic sessions and our famously outrageous quiz. At weekends, we turn it up — live music, DJs until 3am, and old-school bangers filling the dancefloor.
With multiple large screens and three Sky boxes, we show a wide range of sport — but we’re not a sports pub. We’re a pub with personality that happens to show sport.
About You
You’ll bring big energy and strong leadership. You’re organised, commercially aware, and thrive in a busy environment. You know how to motivate a team, manage detail without losing pace, and create an atmosphere that makes guests feel they’re in the best pub in Clapham.
Most importantly, you’re serious about building a long-term career in hospitality — and ready to step up.
If this sounds like you, we’d love to hear from you
