Job Title: Assistant Manager

Function/Department: Retail Location: Leyland Reporting To: Shop Manager


Role Purpose

You will be responsible and accountable for the shop and the team in the absence of the Shop Manager, ensuring the smooth running of the store and team operation. Key duties include:

  • Assisting the Shop Manager with daily operations
  • Leading the shop independently in their absence
  • Managing opening/closing procedures, team leadership, and cash management
  • Delivering excellent customer service while ensuring robust operational adherence

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Shop Manager with the efficient day-to-day running of the shop and team.

    In the absence of the Shop Manager, lead the following:

    • Opening & closing the shop
    • Managing/training the Shop Team (e.g., attendance tracking, performance monitoring)
    • Cash handling & security protocols
    • Company Time & Attendance system (adhering to usage and enforcing compliance)

Essential Requirements

  • Ability to lead teams confidently and inspire collaboration.

  • Adaptability & initiative to drive innovation and resolve problems creatively.

Desirable (but not Essential)

  • 1+ year of retail supervisory experience (Assistant Manager/Supervisor).
  • Prior experience in betting/sport-related roles (not mandatory; full training provided).
