About the Role
We’re looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic Assistant Manager to play a pivotal role in supporting the General Manager at our Cardiff site. As part of the CH&FC (Gather and Gather) team, you’ll be responsible for ensuring the highest standards in food service, fostering strong client relationships, and driving financial performance.
Location & Working Pattern
Location: Cardiff
Working Pattern: Monday – Friday, 40 hours per week, with shifts on a rota basis. Typically between 7:00am – 3:30pm.

Rate of Pay: £30,000 per annum
Core Responsibilities
Food and Service Development
- Ensure that client expectations of food and food service are consistently met in line with the CH&FC brand.
- Brief all staff regarding food and service standards to guarantee excellent, high-standard service.
- Monitor the service and food quality at the site, provide feedback to chefs and the service team, and ensure continuous improvement.
- Proactively suggest innovations in food and service to the General Manager (GM) to enhance the business at the site.
Relationship Management
- Build and maintain positive working relationships with clients at the site.
- Act as the first point of contact for client comments and concerns in the absence of the GM, and take necessary actions.
- Actively collect customer feedback and use it to improve offerings at the business.
Finance
- Collaborate with the GM to ensure the site meets agreed financial targets and stays within budget.
- Understand and interpret financial systems to measure performance and assist the GM in achieving financial goals.
- When the GM is unavailable, prepare, produce, and present a monthly financial report, detailing:
- Financial performance
- Site activity
- Plans
- Any necessary actions taken
