Assistant Manager – Automotive Service, Maintenance & Repair

About the Role

As an Assistant Manager, you’ll support the Centre Manager in delivering productive management and leadership, ensuring profitability while placing a firm focus on the customer journey. Ideal for those with a mix of hands-on mechanical experience or management expertise in a similar setting, this role spans the workshop and key business functions, including:

  • Technician collaboration – Work directly with technicians in our well-equipped workshop.
  • Customer service & sales – Assist the Centre Manager with daily operations, enhancing the customer experience.
  • Optimisation of business performance – Attain measurable success through driving efficiency, profitability, and customer satisfaction.

Earning Potential & Benefits

  • On-target earnings: Up to £45,422 per year (before bonus)
  • Base salary: Maximum £36,322 (yearly equivalent)
  • Uncapped bonus scheme: Average annual add-on of £XXX (subject to performance)
  • Work schedule: 5 days per week (Centre closed on Sundays)

What We’re Looking For

Ideal candidates will embody these attributes:

  • Proven ability to deliver exceptional customer satisfaction through strong leadership
  • Coaching & mentor skills—able to train, guide and motivate colleagues in the moment
  • Technical/mechanical authority:
    • Level 2 or 3 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent experience)
  • Workshop expertise covering diagnostics, vehicle processes and operational efficiency
  • Compliance proficiency, ensuring Health & Safety standards are consistently met
  • Warrior communication skills, with verbal & written fluency
  • IT-savvy & adaptable, with a readiness to learn our in-house systems
  • Strong organisation & time management, to balance multiple priorities wisely
  • Full, valid UK driving licence
