The role
This position will be based within the UK Private Client team which provides a wide range of lead advisory and personal tax compliance services to private clients and their families. The successful candidate will predominantly support partners and directors with the team’s growing portfolio of wealthy UK based families.
The overall aim of the role is to provide outstanding client service in a professional and efficient manner, tailored to give the client the benefit of exceptional advice and maximum added value.
The responsibilities
Delivering tax-based private client advice to large client groups, including all family members as well as their trusts, investment companies and other entities. Taking responsibility for a portfolio of compliance-based clients, with review responsibilities (dependent upon experience). Taking a lead role dealing directly with the client and supporting the Engagement Partner. Coordinating all the services that Saffery offers to those families, from accounts preparation to payroll and corporation tax compliance. Liaising with client teams (i.e. CT/corporate finance/tax) to ensure timely delivery of work and dealing with ad hoc queries. Ensuring deliverables are prepared within the set time frame. Budgeting and invoicing clients. Staff training and development. Networking opportunities with intermediaries. Other advisory opportunities within the forensic accounting and business valuation space.
The team
The UK Private Client partners and team act for UK based families, advising them on a wide range of matters from annual tax compliance to the transfer of wealth between generations. The work is as varied as our clients and we pride ourselves on being the people that clients turn to to solve problems.

The team consists of five partners in the London office, supported by around 20 people ranging from directors to trainees. Whilst we have different specialisms within the team, we all believe in providing excellent technology-enhanced client service.
You
Candidates will hold an ACA or CTA qualification and will ideally have experience of working in a team of private client advisers. The successful applicant will be enthusiastic and technically capable, with excellent interpersonal and organisational skills. The position will require a high level of capability and commitment, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines across a portfolio of clients for multiple partners. Candidates should be self-motivated, display a positive approach and be proactive in terms of finding solutions to the client’s issues. Hold the confidence and professionalism to establish credibility at all levels, be commercially minded and have a clear perception of client requirements.
Systems used include MS Teams, Excel, Word and Digita. Whilst experience in these systems would be an advantage, this is not an essential requirement for the role and initial training will be provided as well as ongoing training in key Microsoft applications.
The firm will provide training and support to help develop the successful candidate’s specialist knowledge and capabilities. There would be an expectation to study towards the CTA qualification, if that is not already held. Training and study leave for such exams would be provided.

Paid in December. Eligibility for the discretionary bonus scheme.
