Assistant Manager

Assistant Manager – Gunwharf Quays

Location: Gunwharf Quays Hours: 40 per week (Must be fully flexible across 7 days including weekends, evenings, and holidays)

About the Role

As an Assistant Manager, you will be a dynamic force in resolving challenges, fostering creativity, and driving customer and team loyalty. This role offers the chance to develop retail management skills and grow within the team, supporting the Store Manager in key operational, sales, and team-building responsibilities.

Core Objectives

  • Act as a moral and operational leader, embedding our brand values.
  • Drive sales, maintain commercial standards, and ensure compliance with policies.
  • Foster inclusive collaboration, workplace harmony, and team well-being.
  • Partner with the manager to create innovative marketing strategies that enhance the customer experience.
  • Oversee stock management, visual merchandising, and store KPIs to deliver retail success.

  • Leadership &Culture:

    • Set an example as a role model, motivating the team with positivity.

  • Customer Experience:

    • Deploy authentic customer service to meet and exceed customer expectations.
  • Operational &KPIs Support:

    • Collaborate with the Store Manager to analyse and improve performance metrics.
    • Lead product knowledge training and consult with customers.

Knowledge, Skills & Ability Requirements

  • Previous experience in fast-paced, customer-facing retail roles.
  • Leadership or supervisory experience preferred but not mandatory.
  • Ability to thrive in flexible, adaptable environments (mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays).
  • Independent, ambitious drive to exceed targets for both individual and store performance.
  • Strong multitasking skills and ability to manage pressure effectively.
  • Deep passion for Wolverine’s brands and lifestyles.
