Assistant Merchandiser

Location: On-Site at Leyland HQ and travel to our Skelmersdale site
Salary: Up to £32K PA
Hours: Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week (08:30 – 16:30)

Are you a proactive analytical thinker with a passion for e-commerce and home interiors? MFI is looking for a sharp, data-driven Assistant Merchandiser to join our team and ensure seamless, highly accurate supply chain operations.
About the Role
MFI relies on accuracy and efficiency to deliver exceptional curation to its online customers. In this role, you’ll be the backbone of our stock management—ensuring seamless commercial operations, accurate tracking of products, and real-time responsiveness.
Key Responsibilities
- Take full ownership of MFI's stock management system, guaranteeing absolute data accuracy.
- Oversee the entire procurement process from raising purchase orders to tracking domestic and international shipments.
- Compile and analyse daily inventory reports, uncovering trends in sell-through rates, expected stocking weeks, and overall KPIs.
- Serve as a critical liaison between buyers, warehouse operations, logistics partners, and suppliers—flagging delays and resolving discrepancies proactively.
- Provide essential support to:
- Troubleshooting delayed or incorrect deliveries.
- Aligning with the finance team for reconciliation purposes.
- Maintaining and updating our website with accurate pre-order pricing and availability.

Requirements
We seek someone who thrives in attention to detail and appreciates how data impacts commercial decision-making:
- Analytical proficiency—advanced Excel skills are non-negotiable (pivot tables, LOOKUPs, and complex formulae).
- Data-driven mindset—comfortable spotting trends, in figures, and transforming data into informed solutions.
- Deadline agility—the ability to manage high-volume tasks under pressure while maintaining precision.
- Equal confidence in navigating external supplier relationships and internal stakeholder communications.
- Genuine passion for home interior design and e-commerce industry developments.
- Previous or practical experience in merchandising, inventory management, or high-volume data processing is essential.
- Note: While a degree in business, math, or retail is beneficial, hands-on expertise can substitute formal qualifications.
