Assistant Night Shift Manager
What You Will Enjoy Doing
We are looking for an Assistant Night Shift Manager to support the successful delivery of our night shift manufacturing operations. Working closely with the Night Shift Manager, you will help drive production performance, ensure high standards of quality and safety, and support the development of our production teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Night Shift Manager in the day-to-day running of production operations, ensuring shift targets and KPIs are achieved.
- Act as the deputy to the senior leader on shift, supporting effective shift handovers and communication across departments.
- Allocate and coordinate labour resources to meet production schedules and maximise operational efficiency.
- Promote a "Right First Time" culture, ensuring products consistently meet customer, quality and regulatory standards, including ISO, FSSC 22000 and GMP requirements.
- Support continuous improvement activities using Lean manufacturing principles to reduce downtime, minimise waste and improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
- Champion a strong Health & Safety culture by promoting safe working practices, ensuring compliance and assisting with accident and incident investigations.
- Coach, support and develop Team Leaders, Machine Operators and Packing Operatives, helping to build capability and improve performance.
- Act as a key communication link between shifts, ensuring production issues, priorities and operational updates are effectively shared across Shift Managers and Team Leaders.
- Provide leadership cover for the Night Shift Manager during holidays and other planned absences.

What makes you great
You'll be an organised and proactive manufacturing professional with strong leadership skills and a passion for continuous improvement. You'll be comfortable working in a fast-paced production environment and confident supporting teams to deliver outstanding performance.
- Previous experience in a supervisory or team leadership role within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of production processes, KPIs and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Knowledge of Health & Safety, Quality and GMP standards within manufacturing.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- The ability to motivate, coach and develop teams.
- A proactive, hands-on approach with strong problem-solving skills.
