Assistant Centre Director – Early Childcare Leadership Opportunity at Busy Bees

About the Role

Busy Bees is seeking an Assistant Centre Director to support the Centre Director in managing daily operations at this vibrant nursery in West Dundee. This role sits at the heart of delivering exceptional early years education, driving team performance and ensuring regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities

As an Assistant Centre Director, you will:

Operational Leadership

-Support the Centre Director in daily management, ensuring educational standards are upheld -Develop and sustain the quality of learning environments, aligned with EYFS -Monitor and improve safety, hygiene and welfare to meet all regulatory criteria

Team Development

-Provide clear leadership to ensure staff are skilled, motivated and empowered -Mentor team members (EYPs, nursery staff) through feedback and training -Foster collaboration and positive working relationships across roles

Curriculum Delivery

-Assist in curriculum design, ensuring it is inclusive, creative and child-led -Arrange activities and educational experiences within Busy Bees’ Bee Curious framework

Administrative Integration

-Assist with scheduling, payroll, contracts and compliance documentation -Ledgers operational challenges, supporting budgeting practices and financial viability


Required Qualifications & Experience

Essential Criteria:

  • Qualified with Level 3 Early Years (or above) and current progression to a regulated SEND qualification (if applicable)
  • Minimum 2 years’ posts as a Deputy/Nursery Manager or similar leadership role
  • Proven experience in curriculum delivery, staff training and quality assurance
  • Strong familiarity with regulatory compliance (e.g. CQC, EYFS guidelines)
  • An assured teamwork ethos and excellent political judgement when sourcing key partnerships

Desirable Skills:

  • Knowledge of 4 Welfare Less & UK safeguarding policies
  • Working in an inclusive environment & adaptive approaches
