The role
As an Assistant Package Manager, you’ll support the delivery of complex construction and infrastructure packages across a major programme environment. Working at the heart of a large-scale defence project, you’ll contribute to every stage of project lifecycle, from design development through to construction and project close-out.
Day-to-day, you’ll have an excellent opportunity to develop your career in project and engineering management, gaining exposure to large, regulated projects while working alongside multidisciplinary teams. The role offers meaningful, hands-on experience that directly contributes to national defence capability.
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting the delivery of infrastructure and construction packages across design, procurement and build phases
- Coordinating activities between engineering, commercial and supply chain teams to ensure smooth project execution
- Monitoring project performance, including progress, cost and quality metrics
- Engaging with internal and external stakeholders to maintain effective communication and alignment
- Contributing to safe, compliant delivery in line with project and regulatory requirements

This role is full-time, 35 hours per week, and is based on site at Devonport Royal Dockyard.
Essential Experience
- Experience working within construction or infrastructure project environments
- Understanding of engineering design and construction processes
- Knowledge of reinforced concrete construction and temporary works
- Familiarity with procurement processes and contract administration
- Experience working in regulated or safety-critical environments
Qualifications
- Degree, HNC or HND in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
- CSCS card
- Project management qualification (e.g. APM or equivalent) — Desirable

The successful candidate must be a sole UK National who is able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC security clearance) for this role.
