Assistant Planner Locations: Glasgow
Hours Full-time presence Monday to Friday, with flexibility on core hours (please indicate availability during application).

About the Role
We are seeking an Assistant Planner to join our regional construction team in Scotland, enabling better project execution, collaboration, and stakeholder support. As a key member of our construction delivery team, you’ll work closely with our Senior Planner to maintain project oversight, ensure construction programmes remain adaptable across different project phases, and leverage your expertise to support a region-wide portfolio of activity.
Undertaking this role, you’d be working across a variety of live programmes and projects, showcasing the strategic impact that skilled planning can have within a major construction contracting company.
Responsibilities
Your key priorities will include the following key tasks:
- Conduct project monitoring for multiple construction projects within the Scottish region, backing up the Senior Planner's activities
- Develop and maintain look-ahead programmes tailored to specific trade packages and track ongoing progress
- Support project teams in software skills (including Asta, Primavera, or MS Project) while delivering high-potential programme updates
- Forecast slippages and assess the commercial impact on design-specific obligations by liaising with trade partners and senior planners
- Lead and assist in producing accurate, high-quality progress reporting, driving operational planning excellence

Requirements
This opportunity suits you if you:
- Have operational knowledge of planning or analytical software (e.g. Asta Powerproject, Primavera, or Microsoft Project)
- Bring construction industry experience, with a background in planning, site management, or engineering from your work within a contractor
- Hold a construction or engineering qualification of HND Level or above
- Possess a full (category B) driving licence
- Thrive in collaborative cross-team environments, with strong communication and consultative skills
