Caddick Construction is a family-owned business renowned for quality, integrity, and innovation in the construction sector. We are seeking an Assistant Planner to join our team due to a number of exciting new projects in the North East.

What You’ll Do
Support the development, maintenance, and monitoring of construction programmes across pre‑construction and live projects. Assist in producing logic‑linked and integrated programmes covering design, procurement, approvals, and construction activities. Gather and analyse project progress data, contributing to accurate planned vs actual tracking. Support logistics planning, sequencing, and collaborative planning sessions with project teams. Assist with programme controls, documentation, compliance checks, and planning audits. Help identify planning‑related risks, opportunities, and buildability considerations. Contribute to planning reports, dashboards, and inputs for monthly project reviews. Work closely with Pre‑Construction, Commercial, Design Management, and Operations teams to ensure integrated planning information. Support continuous improvement initiatives, including Lean Construction and lessons learned. Help maintain databases such as outputs, methodologies, and programme norms.

What We’re Looking For
Skills and Experience
Basic understanding of construction processes, buildability, or site operations (from education, placement, or early experience). Awareness of construction planning principles such as logic linking, critical path, and programme structure. Competent in MS Office tools, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Interest in digital construction, BIM, or 4D visualisation is advantageous. Any previous exposure to project controls, design coordination, or pre‑construction activities is beneficial.
Personal Attributes
Strong analytical and problem‑solving mindset with a genuine desire to learn. Clear and confident communicator, both written and verbal. Highly organised, able to manage multiple tasks with guidance. Adaptable, flexible, and positive in fast‑paced environments. Collaborative team player who can also take initiative when working independently. Motivated by continuous improvement and delivering quality outcomes.
