Assistant Cardiac Practitioner Band 4

We are looking for enthusiastic, committed, dynamic individuals to join our Team at Manchester Foundation Trust Wythenshawe Hospital who will rotate between sites to provide Cardiac Diagnostic Services both in a large tertiary centre and the community setting.

The department offers a full spectrum of Invasive and Non Invasive cardiac diagnostic investigations and is committed to developing staff and actively developing new roles for service provision.

Role Responsibilities

  • Under direction assist qualified Cardiac Physiologists to perform all aspects of Non Invasive Cardiac Diagnostic services and to provide some aspects in the community
  • To undertake a range of duties, which involve direct patient care as directed by healthcare professionals.
  • To be aware of and assist in meeting the psychological, social, physical and spiritual needs of all patients.
  • Discuss with patients issues relevant to their diagnostic investigations.
  • Actively participate in the diagnostic investigations which form part of the patient’s care and treatment plan written by healthcare professionals.
  • To develop new skills so as to enhance patient diagnosis.
  • Practices a range of non-invasive cardiac procedures & performs first-line interpretations
  • Recording & First-line Reporting Resting ECG
  • Multi-modality Cardiac Arrhythmia Monitoring Hook-up
  • Ambulatory Blood Pressure Monitoring Hook-up
  • Patient preparation & physiological monitoring during cardiac & cardiorespiratory exercise tests
  • Assist in Linq implants and communication with patient around remote monitoring
  • Maintain accurate written patient records.
  • Contribute towards the maintenance of local and Trust wide standard of care.
  • To undertake and assist in the organisation of the day to day running of service.
  • Contribute towards ongoing quality of service and care, identifying any risk issues in relation to the patients’ health and social care.
