An Exciting Opportunity for an Assistant Practitioner

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an assistant practitioner to join our Community Rehabilitation Team in Levenmouth.

About the Role

The Community Rehabilitation Teams provide a service to the adult population within the various localities. This will be delivered to service users within their own home or when deemed essential as an out-patient.

The primary function of this role will be to work with the Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy staff as part of the Community Rehabilitation Team to deliver therapeutic treatment programmes to service users in their own homes, preventing hospital admission and supporting early discharge from hospital. The post holder will also be expected to hold their own caseload, assess, progress and discharge autonomously within parameters.

Key Requirements

  • HNC/HND in Health and Social Care or equivalent or SCQF level 8 e.g. Postural Stability Instructor or equivalent.
  • Experience working as a therapy support worker would be essential.
  • It would be essential to have experience working with older people as they are the main group of service users referred.

Skills and Attributes

Working as part of a supportive multidisciplinary team you will be expected to have:

  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as within the team

Additional Information

  • There may be occasions where you will be required to work in one of the other community hospital sites.
  • Public Holiday working is in operation.
  • Our service offers regular supervision, PDP and supports training opportunities.
  • The ability to travel throughout the area is essential as this is a community post.
  • Interviews will be held face to face.
  • Bases are to be determined, but will cover throughout Fife and it would be useful to note areas of work preference on the application e.g. Dunfermline locality/Glenrothes locality.
