Assistant Pre Contracts Manager

Pre-Construction Coordinator

Location: Office-based with regular site visits (primarily London) Type: Full-Time

Are you looking to take the next step in your pre-construction career?

We're seeking a proactive and organised Pre-Construction Coordinator to join a growing team specialising in delivering high-quality commercial fit-out and refurbishment projects. This role offers an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in estimating, quantity surveying, or pre-construction, looking to develop technical, commercial, and client-facing skills in a collaborative environment.

Your responsibilities will revolve around supporting the pre-construction process from initial enquiry to project handover, working closely with experienced professionals and laying the foundation for a progression into a Pre-Construction Manager role.


Responsibilities

  • Producing cost plans and estimates using standard templates
  • Conducting site surveys and quantity take-offs
  • Coordinating subcontractor enquiries and reviewing quotations
  • Assisting with feasibility studies, buildability reviews, and project risk assessments
  • Preparing license approval documentation and coordinating stakeholder submissions
  • Developing and maintaining pre-construction programmes
  • Supporting client presentations and tender submissions
  • Coordinating project handovers to delivery teams
  • Building strong working relationships with:
    • Clients
    • Consultants
    • Subcontractors
    • Internal teams

Requirements

Essential

  • Experience in a pre-construction, estimating, or quantity surveying role within construction or commercial fit-out
  • Ability to produce cost plans and complete quantity take-offs
  • Understanding of construction methods and commercial interiors
  • Excellent organisational skills, capable of managing multiple deadlines
  • Strong communication skills with a collaborative approach
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • (Advantageous) Experience with Bluebeam Revu or Microsoft Project

Desirable

  • Degree or equivalent qualification in:
    • Quantity Surveying
    • Construction Management
    • A related discipline
  • Experience working with JCT contracts
  • Knowledge of landlord approval and license processes
