£38,215 – £44,656 (plus a London Weighting allowance of £4,194 if applicable) with a Civil Service Pension with an average employer contribution of 27% Bootle, Cheltenham or London (plus hybrid working options)

Support leadership at the heart of the UK's nuclear regulator

How do you help senior leaders stay focused on what matters most in a fast-moving, high-profile environment?

At the Office for Nuclear Regulation (ONR), we're looking for two Assistant Private Secretaries to provide trusted support to either our Chief Executive/Chief Nuclear Inspector (CE/CNI) or Deputy Chief Nuclear Inspector (DCNI).

This is a rare opportunity to work at the centre of the organisation, supporting senior leaders whose decisions help shape nuclear safety, security and safeguards across Great Britain.

The roles Working within ONR's Private Office, you'll provide executive-level support to the CE/CNI or DCNI, helping ensure strategic priorities, key commitments and high-profile business are managed effectively.

You'll coordinate executive activity across diaries, meetings, briefings, governance processes and correspondence, while managing the flow of business into and out of the Private Office. Acting as a trusted point of contact, you'll work closely with senior leaders, Board members, government departments and external stakeholders, to ensure issues are handled effectively and leaders are well prepared.

This is a varied role with real influence, offering exposure to ONR's key priorities, risks and decisions while supporting our most senior leaders to operate effectively.

About you You'll bring: Experience supporting senior leaders or Boards within a complex organisation Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities Excellent communication and relationship-building skills Sound judgement, discretion and integrity when handling sensitive information The ability to work independently, anticipate issues and take initiative Experience managing executive diaries, senior meetings, briefings and actions
