Assistant Product Technologist
Assistant Product Technologist – Job Description
About Mint Velvet
Mint Velvet began when founders Liz Houghton and Lisa Agar-Rea set out to create an unfailingly chic collection of contemporary, great quality staples and elevated fits—things they believed were missing from their wardrobes. Frustrated by the lack of options and poor customer service, they fused relaxed comfort with glamorous yet wearable fashion trends, giving rise to Relaxed Glamour.
As collaborative creatives, we take immense pride in our work, designing with heart. We aim to be a force for good, committing to becoming a more circular and responsible business, from fabric choices to sustainable processes.
We are an agile, growing business that fosters an environment of growth and progression, balanced with the flexibility and support needed to thrive in a high-performance culture. Our leadership—including our founders—prioritises balance and passion, and our values are rooted in three core pillars: people, planet, and community.
Our Values:
- With Soul
- Courage & Resilience
- Passion & Drive
- Entrepreneurial Spirit
- Collaborative
If you want to join us on our next chapter, this is an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Product Technologist to become part of our MV Garment Tech Team of 10.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
