Assistant Professor (Teaching Focused) (Community Lead) (111704-0626)

About The Role

Graduate-entry MBChB programme (Assistant Professor in Community Education - 0.7 FTE)

For informal queries about the role, please contact Kate Owen (Director of Medical Studies) at Katherine.Owen@warwick.ac.uk.

The graduate-entry MBChB programme at Warwick Medical School (WMS) is the largest in the UK, attracting graduates from both science and non-science backgrounds. Its modern medical programme is delivered by a dynamic and forward-thinking team of academics and clinicians.

Early patient exposure is recognised as being critical for developing professionalism among medical students. Within this MBChB programme, the first face-to-face student experience of meeting patients occurs in Year 1 in community settings, facilitated by community-based allied healthcare professionals from local NHS trusts. Additional community provisions in Year 2 include palliative care teaching and engagement with under-served communities.

Please note: Skilled Worker visa sponsorship will only be possible in specific circumstances due to the 0.7 FTE salary.

About You

This is an exciting opportunity for an allied healthcare professional (current or former practitioner) with community working experience to join Warwick Medical School’s award-winning MBChB Team as Lead for Community Education. (Current professional registration is not required.)

The position is 0.7 FTE at Assistant Professor (Teaching-Focused) level. Applicants must:

  • Hold a first degree qualification.
  • Have experience in designing and delivering educational interventions.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
