THE TEAM
Join the Power division at JSM Group, supporting the delivery of critical infrastructure projects within the utilities sector. You’ll work with the substation project management team, contributing to high-profile, fast-paced projects that demand strong coordination, attention to detail, and a proactive mindset.
SCOPE OF ROLE
As an Assistant Project Manager, you will play a key supporting role within the project delivery team, helping to ensure smooth coordination across site activities, documentation, and stakeholder communication.
You will work directly with the substation Project Management team, supporting the day-to-day running of the project through administration, data management, and coordination tasks, while gaining exposure to core project management processes and tools.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their career within project management in the utilities or infrastructure sector.
HOW YOU’LL SUCCEED
- Support the Project Management team with the preparation and submission of technical documentation
- Attend meetings and take accurate minutes, ensuring clear actions and follow-ups are recorded
- Maintain and update project logs, ensuring all data is accurate and up to date
- Manage project documentation, including subcontractor and site records
- Act as a key point of contact for site and contractor queries, ensuring timely communication and resolution
- Assist in monitoring inspection rates across multiple platforms
- Prepare documentation and reports for stakeholder meetings and site visits
- Develop a strong understanding of site safety processes and their practical application
- Continuously build capability in project management tools and systems

WHAT IT TAKES
- Strong organisational skills with close attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Proactive approach with a willingness to learn and develop
- Comfortable working with data, documentation, and project systems
- Ability to build relationships with internal teams, subcontractors, and stakeholders
- Interest in project management within construction, utilities, or infrastructure
Desirable:
- Previous experience in a project support or coordination role
- Exposure to construction, utilities, or engineering environments
- Familiarity with document control or project management systems
