Assistant Project Manager - Shape the future of clean energy on one of the UK's most significant infrastructure projects.
Introduction
Are you looking to build your project management career on a nationally important programme that will deliver low-carbon power for generations? This is an exciting opportunity to join a highly skilled team supporting the delivery of a landmark nuclear energy project, where you'll gain exposure to complex engineering, construction and stakeholder environments while developing your career in a supportive and collaborative setting.
Working alongside experienced professionals, you'll play a key role in ensuring project activities are delivered safely, efficiently and to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Project Manager in delivering project and contract scope across key work packages.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure successful project delivery.
- Assist with planning, scheduling and project controls activities.
- Support document control and management system processes.
- Monitor compliance with approved project procedures and standards.
- Help develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.
- Manage the delivery of project documentation under supervision.
- Contribute to programme planning and technical workstream schedules.
- Maintain accurate and auditable records of project decisions.
- Support the delivery of projects against safety, quality, cost and schedule objectives.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Strong written, verbal and presentation communication skills.
- Ability to build relationships and collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and influencing skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Experience supporting project delivery within a technical or engineering environment.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage competing priorities.
- High attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Confidence interacting with senior managers and project stakeholders.
- Budget awareness, forecasting or cost-tracking experience is advantageous.
- Degree or equivalent qualification in Engineering, Construction or a related discipline is desirable but not essential.
