Purpose & Scope of the Role

As an Assistant Project Manager, you'll support the successful delivery of a diverse portfolio of technical and engineering projects for clients across both the public and private sectors. Working closely with Senior Project Managers and multidisciplinary technical teams, you'll contribute to project planning, governance, financial management and delivery, while developing your own project management expertise.

Your Impact in this Position

From day one, you'll play an active role in supporting project delivery, helping teams achieve programme objectives, meet client expectations and deliver high-quality outcomes. You'll manage smaller projects independently while assisting on larger, more complex programmes, gaining valuable experience across a broad range of sectors and disciplines.

Support the successful delivery of projects to agreed timescales, budgets and quality standards. Assist with planning, scheduling and project administration activities.

Risk & Change Management

Help identify, monitor and manage project risks, issues and changes. Support project teams in maintaining effective controls and governance.

Financial & Commercial Awareness

Monitor project performance and contribute to financial reporting. Assist with invoicing, forecasting and project reviews.

Stakeholder & Team Collaboration

Build strong working relationships with project teams, technical specialists and clients. Communicate clearly and professionally across a variety of stakeholders.

Continuous Learning & Development

Demonstrate a proactive approach to learning and professional growth. Work towards recognised Association for Project Management (APM) qualifications with full support from the business.

Training, Qualifications & Experience

Strong interest in project management and developing a long-term career in the profession. Excellent communication and teamwork skills. Proactive, organised and eager to learn. Competent in Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Excel. Eligible to obtain security clearance.

Working Environment

This role can be based in London, Leeds, Bristol or Manchester, with a flexible hybrid working model. You'll benefit from a combination of office-based collaboration and home working, providing flexibility while remaining connected to colleagues, clients and project teams.
