Assistant Project Manager (APM) for Hinkley Point ‘C’ (HPC) – Vital Role in UK’s Nuclear Energy Future

Mace combines construction expertise with consultancy to unlock potential in every person or project and redefine the boundaries of ambition. Our values shape the way we consult and define the people we want to join us on our journey.

The project — Hinkley Point ‘C’ (HPC) — is a vital part of the UK’s future energy strategy. As the first of the UK’s next-generation nuclear power stations, HPC is of high profile, high complexity, and delivered through a multi-disciplinary team-based organisation.

The Assistant Project Manager (APM) will demonstrate strong leadership of all activities associated with the full lifecycle delivery of major contracts. Reporting directly to the Service Manager, you will ensure the timely and quality delivery of engineering, procurement, manufacturing, construction, and handover activities against the overall Project schedule.

Core Responsibilities

• Supporting Project Delivery:

  • Assist the Project Manager in delivering the project and contract scope for HPC, under close supervision.
  • Liaise with key internal teams to ensure task coordination for seamless project execution.

• Management Systems & Compliance:

  • Develop and support management systems within the Project Controls team, including planning and document control to improve delivery efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with NNB’s approved procedures, contributing to project governance.
  • Actively engage with statutory stakeholders for the HPC project, ensuring alignment with their requirements.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
