Assistant Project Manager

Assistant Project Manager – Reservoir Maintenance (Fixed Term, Hampshire/Isle of Wight)

About the Role

We’re seeking an Assistant Project Manager to play a critical role in managing Southern Water’s Reservoir Maintenance Programme across Hampshire and the Isle of Wight. Your work will help align Southern Water with the DWI (Drinking Water Inspectorate) industry standard, ensuring all service reservoirs undergo 1-year, 3-year, and 5-year inspections as required.

As part of this programme, you’ll:

  • Coordinate reservoir maintenance activities, ensuring compliance with timelines and quality standards.
  • Understand and enforce reservoir isolation protocols, including both physical isolation and network compatibility.

  • Oversee site safety and health & safety (H&S), including contractor management and risk reviews.

Key Responsibilities

Programme Delivery & Coordination

  • Monitor and forecast reservoir inspections to ensure targets are met.
  • Oversee reservoir-related maintenance works, liaising with contractors to guarantee on-time delivery.

Reservoir Operations & Compliance

  • Conduct reservoir inspections, including contact tanks, break pressure tanks, and all water storage assets.
  • Ensure safety isolation protocols align with operational and network demands.
  • Develop emergency isolation plans, detailing valve operations, environmental constraints, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Produce and validate risk assessments, method statements, and single contact orders (SCOs) for reservoir activities.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
