Assistant Project Manager (Highways & Transportation)

About The Role

We are seeking Assistant Project Managers to join our team and support the successful delivery of highways and local transport projects across their full lifecycle. This is an excellent opportunity to build your career within a leading consultancy, working on meaningful infrastructure programmes that improve how people move through places and communities.

Working alongside experienced project managers and multidisciplinary technical teams, you will:

  • Gain broad exposure to project delivery.
  • Develop the confidence and capability to take on increasing responsibility.
  • Play a visible role in coordinating projects.
  • Engage stakeholders and help teams deliver high-quality outcomes for clients.

Our culture ensures your success by offering flexible and remote working. We’re dedicated to supporting you in ways that suit your needs – whether that’s reduced hours, extra leave during school holidays, or a tailored approach for those returning from a career break.

Current Opportunities

Our Transportation Division is seeking Assistant Project Managers in Glasgow and Edinburgh. You’ll work on diverse multi-disciplinary highways projects across Scotland, the UK, and the Republic of Ireland.

Key Responsibilities

  • Apply your excellent people, multi-disciplinary technical, and delivery skills to civil and structural designs in new build, renewal, maintenance, and assessment works.
  • Collaborate with the largest transportation consultancy in the UK and partner with government, local authorities, infrastructure owners, and niche clients like Transport Scotland, Network Rail, and train operating companies.
  • Develop your project management and highways delivery expertise from our Scotland base, while engaging with internationally based design teams.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
