The Opportunity

Join as an Assistant Project Manager on Project Bridge, delivering major contracts at Hinkley Point C (HPC) before transitioning to an exciting international leadership role in EDF’s EPR2 programme across sites like Penly, Bugey, or Gravelines (France).
You’ll:
- Support project delivery by coordinating engineering, procurement, manufacturing, construction, and handover activities
- Collaborate with senior Project Managers and multidisciplinary teams to align with safety, quality, schedule, and cost objectives
- Gain exposure to complex nuclear engineering challenges while developing skills versatile for future career growth
- Prepare for an international career, with potential progression into leadership roles on EDF’s nuclear new build programmes

What You’ll Be Doing
Core Responsibilities
- Support Project Managers in delivering:
- Engineering, procurement, manufacturing, construction, and handover activities across contracts and work packages
- EPR and future EPR2 programme activities
- Coordinate activities with key teams:
- Engineering, commercial, procurement, construction, Project Controls, and Safety
- Maintain critical project documentation:
- Schedules (Gantt charts, programme timelines)
- Governance records and auditable decision logs
- Business cases, reports, and earned value management data
- Facilitate stakeholder engagement:
- Communicate effectively with suppliers, partners, and partners across the UK-France programme
- Support collaborative project delivery in a hybrid/remote work structure (where applicable)
- Contribute to accounting and planning:
- Budget management, forecasting, and project controls processes

Who You Are
EDF seeks resilient, collaborative Associate Project Managers eager to excel in complex environments. Ideal candidates will:
Key Requirements
- Degree (or equivalent) in:
- Construction Engineering
- Nuclear/Mechanical Engineering
- Civil/Steel Fabrication Design
- Related project management disciplines
- Project Management knowledge from practical experience—demonstrable via:
- Successfully supporting major programmes (construction, engineering, or industrial)
- Experience in stakeholder co-ordination across multi-disciplinary teams
- Ability to manage competing priorities with analytical attention to detail
Essential Knowledge & Competencies

| Applicable Professional Bodies | Member, APM (Associations for Project Management) or PMI (Project Management Institute) or similarly aligned knowledge (e.g. APM BoK principles) |
| Languages | Fluent oral/written French (intermediate or higher) – essential for France relocation. Alternative: Clear commitment to attaining French business-level proficiency within 18 months |
| Software & Tools | Experience with: |
- Project Controls (e.g., Primevera, MS Project)
- Cost-accounting & forecasting (ERP/commercial systems)
- Reporting (PowerPoint, Microsoft Visio)
