AECOM – Flood Risk and Asset Management (FRAM) Project Manager
Start here. Grow here.
At AECOM, we’re a global infrastructure consulting firm partnering with clients to solve complex challenges and deliver lasting positive impacts.
We’ve been appointed to the Flood Risk and Asset Management (FRAM) Lots under the UK Government’s Construction Professional Services 2 (CPS2) Framework, deepening our 25-year partnership with the Environment Agency. As part of the North, Midlands & Scotland Region, we’re investing in resilient flood and coastal risk management solutions—protecting communities, safeguarding the environment, and meeting the UK’s ambitious infrastructure commitments.
We’re hiring Assistant Project Managers and Project Managers with Water industry expertise, based across 8 regional offices, to support FRAM projects throughout their lifecycle—from conception to design, procurement, and on-site delivery.
Your work will drive the Environment Agency’s multi-billion investment in flood risk reduction, ensuring natural and engineered defences meet future challenges.
About the Role
We’re seeking innovative and result-driven professionals with a passion for project excellence to join our expanding Infrastructure Project Management team. With strong demand for modern Flood and Coastal Risk Management solutions and a thriving project pipeline, this is an exciting opportunity to grow alongside a team balancing passion, collaboration and driving meaningful outcomes.
As an Assistant Project Manager / Project Manager, you’ll work alongside Senior Project Managers and Associates—eyeing the full scope of a project, from inception to completion.
Core Responsibilities
- Lead or support a collaborative team to actively manage and deliver capped investment projects for the FRAM—spanning option development, construction tendering, NEC contract management, and on-site delivery.
- Coordinate and administer PM commissions, including:
- Chairing and minuting meetings
- Supporting project plans, progress reporting, and procurement & tender assessment
- Structured risk, contract, and administration duties post-contract award
- Cultivate client and stakeholder engagement, ensuring projects align with agreed scopes, budgets and timelines while proactively resolving disputes.
- Account for end-to-end project delivery, covering safety, quality, time and cost management.
- Ensure teams have the right resources to meet business and client objectives—delivering outputs on time, with the highest quality.
- Guide a diverse cross-functional team while building strong client relationships.
- Act as a Business Development support resource, supplementing proposals for existing and new clients.
- Assist in contract administration, with specialist knowledge of NEC4 (PSC & ECC) contracts—i.e. reviewing tenders, advising procurement strategies.
- Provide mentorship to Graduates and Apprentices through a combination of coaching and direct support.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
