About The Role

We are looking for an Assistant Project Manager to join the team and support the Project Manager on a major overhead line project based in Dundee. This is a great opportunity for someone with project delivery experience who is looking to build their career within a busy infrastructure environment, supporting key programme, commercial, HSEQ, stakeholder and reporting activities across the project.

What you'll be doing

Programme & Delivery

  • Support PMs in developing, updating, and monitoring project programmes (Primavera P6 / MS Project).
  • Track progress against agreed milestones, flagging delays and assisting in recovery planning.
  • Ensure activities are aligned with NEC3 contract requirements, including Accepted Programme updates.

Commercial & Contractual

  • Assist in contract administration (NEC awareness is desirable (see below) not essential).
  • Support PMs with Early Warnings (EWNs), Compensation Events (CEs), and risk register management.
  • Help monitor budgets, cost forecasts and cash flow against allocated work packages.

Health, Safety, Environment & Quality (HSEQ)

  • Promote a positive safety culture including carrying out site safety walks and observations.
  • Support RAMS reviews and ensure compliance with H&S legislation and BB procedures.
  • Assist with quality documentation (ITPs, NCRs, audits) and environmental compliance tracking.

Stakeholder & Team Coordination

  • Support engagement with subcontractors, designers, client (SSEN) and third parties (local authorities, landowners).
  • Prepare meeting packs, take minutes and track actions to closure.
  • Act as liaison between site teams and PM on day-to-day issues.

Reporting & Information Management

  • Collect progress data (site diaries, daily records, KPI trackers).
  • Contribute to weekly/monthly reports (Pulse Reports etc).
  • Use digital tools (Power BI, Sypro, SharePoint, BIM 360, etc.) for data management.

Leadership & Development

  • Supervise and mentor junior engineers/graduates as appropriate.
  • Gain experience towards Chartership/Professional Review.
  • Develop skills to step up into a Project Manager role.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
