Main duties of the job
This post is an established and vital part of the Staff Psychology Service supporting staff across the Chelsea and Westminster NHS Foundation Trust. The Assistant Psychologist will assist the team with the running and development of this exciting service. Key responsibilities include assisting with service delivery, coordinating and screening referrals, collecting and analysing service data, and supporting audit and evaluation activities. The postholder will contribute to the development and delivery of psychoeducational workshops and reflective practice groups, and assist with scoping and service improvement projects.
This work will be supervised by a Clinical Psychologist and there will be the opportunity to network with the group of Assistant Psychologists already working in Clinical Health Psychology.
The role is based across both hospital sites, Chelsea and Westminster Hospital (369 Fulham Road, SW10 9NH) and West Middlesex University Hospital (Twickenham Road, TW7 6AF). A free hospital shuttle bus connects these two sites.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
