Assistant Psychologist

**Assistant Psychologist – Trauma & Mental Health Renewal Service The Limes, Elysium Healthcare


About the Role

Are you passionate about making a real impact on the lives of vulnerable individuals? Join The Limes, a Level 2 Mental Health inpatient rehabilitation service, as an Assistant Psychologist to deliver ** Evidence-Based Psychological Support** in a supportive and developmental environment.

You’ll work with patients with Mental Health conditions, Personality Disorders (PD), Learning Disabilities, or Autism, providing assessments, interventions, and professional growth opportunities. Under the supervision of a Senior Psychologist, you’ll gain hands-on experience across research, clinical audits, and team training—all while advancing your career in a tiered healthcare organisation with global resources.


Key Responsibilities

  • Core Clinical Duties

    • Assist in psychological assessments and formulations, ensuring objective, person-centred reports
    • Collaborate in 1:1 and group interventions (e.g. CBT, schema therapy, trauma-informed approaches), monitoring effectiveness and adjustments
    • Contribute to service evaluations, statistical audits, and research projects (data collection and reporting)
  • Clinical & Administrative Support

    • Maintain clinical databases and regulatory documentation
    • Develop/recline reflective practice frameworks for staff
    • Conduct teaching sessions or training for clinical teams
  • Research & Innovation

    • Analyse psycho-metric data, completing treatment outcome measures and contributing to publication-ready findings

Compliance and Safeguarding

  • Adhere to HCPC Standards of Conduct, BPS Code of Ethics, individuals rights of independence and autonomy, and Safer Recruitment protocols.
  • Maintain continuing professional development (CPD) to meet disciplinary requirements.

Minimum Qualifications & Experience

To excel in this role, you’ll have:

Academic

  • Upper second-class honours degree in Psychology (BSc/MSc)
  • BPS Graduate Membership (Gradient-Member status or eligibility)

Practical Experience

  • A minimum of 1 year’s experience as an Assistant Psychologist in mental health/forensic settings (preferred)
  • Proficiency in administrative processes (e.g. upkeep of case files, spreadsheets)

Skills & Values

  • Strong ethical reasoning shaped by BPS codes and real-world applications
  • Embigun acceptance of diversity and trauma-informed principles
  • Evidence-based clinical thinking skills
