About the Role

Priory Hospital Kemple View, a 90-bedded hospital offering level 2 rehabilitation and secure services for adult males with mental health conditions and/or personality disorders, invites applications for a Strain Reduction Assistant.

You’ll contribute to psychological treatment plans by delivering assessments and interventions under supervision, enhancing the well-being of service users.

Based in Blackburn, Lancashire, Priory Hospitals delivers high-quality psychological care within secure environments. This role supports the Psychology team, helping stakeholders achieve positive outcomes in mental health, emotional well-being, physical health, and social rehabilitation.

As a Strain Reduction Assistant, you will:

  • Assist in planning, delivering, and evaluating therapeutic interventions under qualified psychologist supervision
  • Contribute to psychological assessments, supporting provision of care plans
  • Help address mental, emotional, and social well-being needs of service users
  • Support rehabilitation efforts within the secure care environment

What You’ll Bring

Essential Requirements:

  • Completion of an undergraduate degree in psychology, applying academic knowledge to clinical or support roles
  • Enthusiasm for psychological care and a willingness to learn within a managed environment
  • Strong communication skills to interact with complex and diverse stakeholders
  • Ability to work collaboratively under multimedia supervision
  • Basic knowledge of psychological principles and research

Desired:

  • Previous voluntary or paid experience in allied health settings
  • Familiarity with trauma-informed care or secure care environments
