Suttons Manor has an opportunity for an Assistant Psychologist to join our team.
Priory Hospital Suttons Manor is set in Stapleford Tawney, a village and civil parish in the Epping Forest district, near the town of Romford. The hospital is set in its own attractive grounds of over nine acres, which supports an amazing horticulture programme and grants access to an idyllic countryside landscape, which, by its very nature, promotes wellbeing.
What you'll be doing
In this role, you will play a key part in patient recovery, supporting the assessment and delivery of tailored treatment plans while ensuring dignity, respect, and high standards of care.
- Assisted qualified psychologists in conducting psychological assessments, gathering clinical information, and preparing reports to inform treatment planning.
- Delivered one-to-one and group psychological interventions under supervision, supporting individuals with complex mental health needs.
- Worked collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement person-centred, evidence-based care plans.
- Monitored patient progress, maintained accurate clinical records, and contributed to case discussions and risk assessments.
- Supported service development through clinical audits, outcome monitoring, and the delivery of psychoeducation to patients and carers.

What you'll bring to the role
We are looking for a motivated and compassionate individual with a strong understanding of psychological theory, evidence-based practice, and mental health. The successful candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships with service users, carers, and multidisciplinary teams. They will be organised, adaptable, and able to manage competing priorities while maintaining accurate and confidential clinical records. The role requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to contribute to psychological assessments, interventions, research, and service evaluation under the supervision of a qualified psychologist. A commitment to professional, ethical, and safeguarding standards, along with a willingness to learn and develop within the role, is essential.
