Are you looking to make a difference to stroke survivors in Warwickshire?

This is an exciting opportunity for a committed, organised and enthusiastic individual to join the community stroke service for a 12-month fixed term contract.

About the Role

We are looking for an Assistant Psychologist to support the ongoing development and provision of Clinical Psychology and Clinical Neuropsychology within the Community Stroke Service (North and South Warwickshire).

Responsibilities

  • Assisting in the assessment of emotional and cognitive disorders following stroke.
  • Delivering mood interventions and cognitive rehabilitation to support patients after stroke.
  • Working within a large team of therapists and assistants from different disciplines including Occupational Therapists, Speech and Language Therapists, Physiotherapists, and Clinical Psychologists.

  • Good time management and organisational skills.
  • Ability to travel independently.

Additional Information

  • To support the ongoing development and provision of Clinical Psychology and Clinical Neuropsychology within the Community Stroke Service for North and South Warwickshire.
  • To assist in the assessment of emotional and cognitive disorders following stroke.
  • To assist in the planning, implementation, and delivery of anxiety, fatigue, and mood interventions to support patients after stroke.
  • To carry out cognitive screens and specific neuropsychological assessments under supervision.
  • To carry out cognitive rehabilitation programs under supervision to support cognitive deficits in patients following a stroke.
  • To assist in the selection and delivery of psychological measures for assessing the effectiveness of patient work/training/group work and the development of systems to capture baseline and outcome data.
  • To support in the development of materials and delivery of training to staff within the stroke service.
  • To undertake audit and research projects, collection of statistics, teaching, and project work.
