Job Overview
The postholder will assist team members in the development, online hosting, and delivery of materials to support the therapy of patients with physical health conditions. They will conduct patient interviews to help design the materials and to evaluate their impact in order to support the work of the Department of Clinical Health Psychology.
Main duties of the job
- To prepare materials to be loaded onto an online platform to support the psychological well-being of people with physical health conditions
- To analyse qualitative and quantitative data arising out of research relating to interviews of patients relating to the online materials
- To assist in the administration and facilitation of groups run as psychological interventions for patients with physical health conditions

- An upper second class honours degree or higher in psychology.
- Entitlement to graduate membership of the British Psychological Society
Desirable criteria
- A first class honours degree.
- Further post graduate training in areas relevant to the post, mental health practice, and/or research design and analysis
Experience
Essential criteria
- NHS and/or academic work with people with physical health problems, mental health problems, and/or other disabilities
Desirable criteria
- Experience of paid work in direct care provision.
Knowledge And Skills
Essential criteria
- Skill in coding and/or developing apps and online materials and/or tests/experiments.
- High level communication skills (written and verbal) including an ability to communicate and work in settings in which the atmosphere may be highly emotive.
- Ability to communicate sensitive information to patients, carers, and colleagues in a way that addresses psychological resistance.
- An understanding of the needs and difficulties of people with physical health problems.
- An ability to apply existing psychological knowledge to a physical health context.
- An understanding of psychology applied to health care.
Desirable criteria
- High standard of report writing.

- Ability to accept and use supervision appropriately and effectively.
