Assistant Quantity Surveyor

Senior Rail Shaft & Headhouse Design Engineer

London, United Kingdom Permanent Contracts, Equipment & Platforms

About the Role

We are currently looking for a Senior Rail Shaft & Headhouse Design Engineer to join our Shafts & Headhouses team in London. This is a key position within our Commercial business unit across Eurostar, Transport for London, and Network Rail, assisting with bidirectional projects across UK and Europe.

Key Responsibilities

  • Be responsible for the detailed design of both existing and new rail shafts, headhouses, and related infrastructure across platform and work areas
  • With MBC, the main contractor for HS2, communication with quality, accreditation, and construction teams will be a key requirement
  • Focus on the roadblocks connecting Network Rail, network Edistructs, and assets through innovative solutions for large technical challenges
  • Ensure quality management and the day-to-day delivery of work, liaising with both client-facing and internal teams
  • Provide technical support in terms of budget/risk management and business development for both new build and capital upgrades
  • Work closely with commercial and operations teams to ensure timely and robust delivery of work

Your Specification

  • School-leaver or university graduate with degree-level education and 2+ years relevant hydrocarbon/fuelled plant experience
  • Interest in project-based environments within maintenance processes
  • Proficiency with 3D engineering simulation software, including AutoCAD and SolidWorks
  • Familiarity with EN14343:7 (Headhouse & Shafts) standards required
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with clear verbal/written reporting
