Assistant Quantity Surveyor
Tees Valley | Major Energy Recovery Project

Careys is recruiting an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join our commercial team on a major Energy Recovery Facility in Tees Valley.
Working alongside experienced commercial professionals, you'll gain exposure to every stage of the project lifecycle, developing your commercial expertise on a landmark scheme that will leave a lasting legacy.
This is an excellent opportunity for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor looking to take the next step in their career within a business that genuinely invests in its people.
Key Responsibilities
You'll support the commercial management of the project, working closely with the Senior Quantity Surveyor, Commercial Manager, and operational teams to ensure commercial objectives are achieved.

Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting the preparation of CVRs, forecasts, and cost reporting.
- Assisting with valuations and change management.
- Supporting subcontract procurement and administration.
- Preparing payment applications and subcontract documentation.
- Monitoring project costs, risks, and opportunities.
- Building strong relationships with site teams, clients, and subcontractors.
- Developing your commercial knowledge across NEC contracts and major civil engineering works.
Skills, Knowledge, and Expertise
You'll ideally have:
- Experience as an Assistant Quantity Surveyor within civil engineering, infrastructure, or construction.
- Knowledge of NEC contracts.
- A Quantity Surveying degree or be working towards one.
- Strong commercial awareness and excellent organizational skills.
- A genuine desire to learn and develop.
