Assistant Quantity Surveyor – Mechanical

Sale Group is seeking ambitious and commercially minded Assistant Quantity Surveyors to join our team and support the financial management of high-value commercial fit-out projects, with a strong focus on Mechanical and Building Services installations.

Reporting to a Senior Quantity Surveyor or Director, you will gain excellent exposure and hands-on experience across the full commercial lifecycle of exciting fit-out projects. This is a fantastic opportunity for graduates or early-career Quantity Surveyors looking to develop their skills in a supportive, fast-paced environment.

About You

  • Recent graduate or early-career professional with a degree (or equivalent) in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
  • Strong interest in Mechanical and Building Services installations within the commercial fit-out sector.
  • Good understanding (or keen to develop) of cost reporting, budget forecasting, contract administration, and valuation processes.
  • Excellent communication skills and a proactive, commercially aware mindset.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation of budget estimates, cost plans, and cash flow forecasts.
  • Support the administration of contracts, including variation management and issue of notices.
  • Help prepare monthly valuations, applications for payment, and final account documentation.
  • Support the procurement of sub-contractor and supplier packages.
  • Assist with sub-contractor account management, payment certifications, and cost tracking.
  • Attend commercial and project meetings, taking minutes and representing the company professionally.
  • Work closely with Senior Quantity Surveyors, Project Managers, and site teams to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
