Your new role
As an Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you will play a vital role in supporting our Quantity Surveyors and Project Managers in managing projects efficiently and cost-effectively.
The ideal candidate will
- Collaborate with senior team members to prepare accurate cost estimates for projects, including comprehensive assessments of materials, labour, and overhead costs.
- Assist in the evaluation of subcontractor and supplier quotations, working closely with our procurement team to ensure cost-efficiency and quality.
- Participate in reviewing and administering construction contracts, handling variations, claims, and maintaining contract documentation.
- Monitor project expenditures and budgets, providing timely and accurate reports and forecasts to the project team.
- Conduct on-site measurements and valuations to assess project progress and verify compliance with contractual terms.
- Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, architects, and other stakeholders to achieve project objectives efficiently.

About You
Alongside your excellent relationship-building skills, diplomacy, and your enthusiasm for taking good care of people, you will fit into the following specifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Highways Management, or a related field and/or relevant experience.
- Strong analytical and numerical abilities.
- It is desirable to have a CSCS Card.
- Full driver's licence.
- Strong analytical skillset to assess project costs, quantities, and data accurately.
- Meticulous in their work, as small errors in cost estimates or documentation can have significant consequences.
- Effective communication is essential to collaborate with project teams, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Strong interpersonal skills to build relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and colleagues to drive a successful project.
