Reckon you can assist our Commercial Team in some number crunching? Passionate about spreadsheets and controlling costs?! Join Watson as an Assistant Quantity Surveyor and you’ll get to help us stick to our budgets and deliver quality projects that we are really proud of!
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain cost control procedures and work in compliance with Watson Homes policies and procedures
- Assist with the preparation of trade specifications and tender packs
- Assist with tender analysis
- Support in the preparation of purchasing plans
- Process payments, variations and issue contra charges
- Assist with monthly sales applications
- Maintain payment record sheets and keep up to date following completion of payment runs
- Complete take offs and produce bill of quantity’s against drawings
- Support with the agreement and settlement of final accounts
- Undertake site measures and re measures
- Attend and record pre start meetings with subcontractors
- Provide commercial support to site teams
- Assist the SHEQ Team with PQQ and Annual Assessment processes
- Support with contract administration of the Main Contract

Skills, Knowledge, and Aptitude
- Excellent communication skills and able to build effective working relationships both internally and externally
- Numerically literate with good levels of attention to detail
- Strong Microsoft and general I.T skills
- Willing to learn
- Team player, and supportive of colleagues
- Good organisational and time management skills

Qualifications & Training - Essential
- HNC/ Level 4 or above in Quantity Surveying (or studying towards)
- Driving licence and own vehicle to travel to developments
Qualifications & Training - Desirable
- CSCS certification
- Familiar with COINS
Experience
- Previous experience within a similar role

It is important to form strong working relationships with both internal and external people. The focus in this role is:
