The Role
As Assistant Race Director, you will support the safe and effective operation of the venue, helping manage race events, venue operations, and track teams while delivering an exceptional customer experience.
Acting as a Duty Manager when required, you'll work closely with Front of House, Engineering, and Venue Management teams to ensure events run safely, professionally, and to the highest standard. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their leadership, race management, and operational skills within a fast-paced motorsport environment.
Key Responsibilities
Race Operations & Event Delivery
- Support the management and operation of race events from Race Control
- Monitor race sessions and ensure events are delivered safely and professionally
- Demonstrate fair, consistent, and effective race management
- Conduct customer safety briefings prior to race events
- Support the delivery of an entertaining and memorable customer experience
- Ensure adherence to Daytona operational procedures and safety standards
Venue Operations & Duty Management
- Act as Duty Manager when required
- Support the effective day-to-day operation of the venue
- Manage track operations and customer flow during busy periods
- Respond effectively to incidents, customer concerns, and operational challenges
- Liaise with department heads to ensure events are delivered to the highest standard

People Management & Training
- Support the supervision and development of the Track Team
- Assist with the induction and training of new team members
- Support ongoing staff development in line with company policies and statutory requirements
- Lead by example, promoting professionalism, teamwork, and high standards
- Assist with shift coordination and operational planning
Systems, Compliance & Administration
- Become fully conversant with Daytona's booking and timing systems
- Maintain accurate operational records and reporting
- Ensure compliance with the Track Training Manual, National Karting Association (NKA) guidelines, and company policies
- Support the implementation of health and safety procedures across the venue
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience in a supervisory, team leadership, or operational role
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Strong people management, organizational, and time management skills
- Confident public speaker, capable of delivering customer safety briefings
- Ability to remain calm, make decisions, and solve problems under pressure
- Professional, approachable, and customer-focused attitude
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety standards
- Enthusiastic, motivated, and able to lead by example
- Flexible availability, including evenings and weekends
- Experience within motorsport, leisure, hospitality, events, or outdoor operational environments would be advantageous
