Salary: £49,140 - £55,000 per annum (inclusive of Inner London Weighting) plus £5,000 Market Forces Supplement
Contractual Hours: Full-time, 35 hours
Basis: Permanent

We are seeking an experienced and motivated higher education professional to join our Registry team as Assistant Registrar (Governance & Quality).
This is a key role within the Directorate of Student & Academic Services, supporting the School’s academic governance, quality assurance, regulatory compliance and academic standards framework. You will help ensure that our governance, quality and assurance arrangements remain robust, effective and aligned with external regulatory, legal and sector expectations.
You will work closely with the Academic Registrar, the Director of Student & Academic Services and Registrar, the Head of Learning and Teaching, senior academic colleagues, professional services teams and members of key committees including the governing body.
About You
You will be an experienced higher education professional with substantial experience in academic governance, quality assurance, academic standards, regulatory compliance or a related area.

You will bring strong knowledge of the UK higher education quality and standards framework, including the OfS regulatory framework, QAA expectations, the Committee of University Chairs (CUC) Code with particular focus on academic governance and assurance practices. You will have experience of advising senior colleagues and committees, improving assurance or compliance systems, and drafting high-quality reports, formulating insights, papers, policies and guidance.
You will be analytical, well organised and assured in interpreting complex requirements and making evidence-based recommendations. You will also have excellent written, verbal and presentational skills, and the credibility, tact and diplomacy to provide authoritative advice at both strategic and operational levels.
Experience of working in a specialist, small or conservatoire environment, supporting governing body assurance activity, or managing staff within professional services would be advantageous.

This role would suit a highly capable governance and quality professional who enjoys working across policy, regulation, committees, evidence, process improvement and institutional assurance.
