Do you have experience in accounting, rent administration or finance support and are you looking for your next step or a new exciting opportunity?

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Assistant Rent Accountant to provide rent accounting and management support to Bidwells’ Rural Estate Management team. In this new role, you will play a key part in delivering managing agent services across a significant and diverse rural estate portfolio, ensuring rent income, tenant payments and expenditure are processed accurately, efficiently and in line with contractual requirements. This position is central to effective financial reporting and high-quality service delivery, working closely with the Senior Rent Accountant and wider estate management teams.

This is an incredible opportunity to contribute to the management of a large and diverse rural estate portfolio, spanning tens of thousands of acres across multiple locations. The work goes beyond core financial administration, contributing to the successful day-to-day management of the estate, building strong relationships with tenants, communities and stakeholders and supporting the long-term stewardship of rural assets.

This role will be based in our Inverness office.

What you’ll be doing

  • Preparing and issuing accurate rent demands in line with agreed timetables
  • Processing tenant receipts, managing allocations and completing regular bank reconciliations
  • Maintaining accurate financial and property records within the property management system whilst updating data in line with lease events
  • Supporting arrears management, including reporting, payment plans and related correspondence
  • Assisting with monthly financial reporting, including rent rolls, aged debtors and income summaries
  • Supporting purchase-to-pay processes, including supplier setup, invoice processing and payment in line with policies and delegated authority levels
  • Assisting with VAT, CIS and wider compliance requirements
  • Supporting the co-ordination of lease events and statutory compliance activities (e.g. EICRs, gas safety, insurance), ensuring records are accurate and up to date
  • Monitoring supplier performance, payment activity and compliance with financial controls, KPIs and audit requirements
  • Providing support during audits, including preparation of documentation and supporting schedules
  • Responding to tenant, supplier and internal queries in a professional and timely manner
  • Collaborating with surveyors, managing agents and finance teams to support effective estate management and reporting
  • Ensuring adherence to data protection, confidentiality and record-keeping standards

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
